Description | This paper deals with the Weibull distribution and its transformation defined on a finite interval. This new transformed distribution is used in survival analysis to estimate survival function. Maximum likelihood method is used to estimate the distribution parameters and the algorithm is applied to the data of patients who suffer from a breast cancer in the fourth stage of the disease. The results are compared with the estimate made by the standard Weibull distribution and Kaplan-Meier nonparametric estimate. |
