Description Atopy is a generally considered to be caused by interaction of genetic and environmental factors. The gene encoding CD14 is a positional candidate gene for atopy, as it is localized on chromosome 5q31.1, a region that has been linked to asthma and atopic responses. The present study was conducted to determine the association of -1145A/G polymorphism with atopic phenotypes in the Czech population.
