Description	In this work the method for determination of iodine in milk samples is descibed. The method for sample preparation was alkline ashing and iodine contents were measured with use of VG-ICP-OES. There are discussed spectral interferences and methods for its elimination in this work. Evaluated method was validated by analysis of CRM sample and by other independent technique ICP-MS.
