| Description | In this study, we used molecular diagnostics of the spirochete Treponema pallidum in biological materials. The tested samples were collected from patients with suspect syphilis, and patients diagnosed with primary, secondary, early or late latent stages of syphilis. Samples of one patient with congenital syphilis were also analyzed. The biological samples included mucosal swabs, blood sera, blood clots, cerebro-spinal fluid and tissue. Sample from 205 clinical samples, representing 141 blood sera, 30 swabs, 32 blood clots, and cerebro-spinal fluid and a tissue sample were analyzed. |
